TAITORI Catering Order

The story behind the Catering Order service

Every member of the Taitori team has previously worked in enterprises where premises and catering for customer meetings (in the shared customer meeting rooms of the Business Park for example) always had to be booked in separate systems while the company’s own internal meeting rooms were booked in the company’s own calendar system (Microsoft Outlook).

This took far too long and frustrated numerous people. Many of our colleagues came to ask:

“Why do we always book our own meeting rooms in Outlook but reserve spaces downstairs in the Business Park in another system, by calling or by e-mail? Can’t they somehow be put into Outlook which is what I use several times each day as it is?”

This was our starting point for developing the Taitori Provider service for catering orders. Its main idea is to make catering orders as easy as possible and to enable making them from where you are.

A catering order can be made:

  • in the web service with a mobile device or a computer
  • in Outlook with the Addin

A catering order can be linked with any given premises thanks to the Taitori Reserve service. Premises and catering can then be booked in the same service and entered into Outlook as a whole. Pick-up orders can also be placed.

Catering orders in a kitchen

Catering orders are transmitted to a kitchen by e-mail or in an electronic situation snapshot based on which the kitchen is informed of them and can also follow their status from ordering to cleaning if it so desires. The kitchen dashboard views can be projected on big info screens for example thanks to the Taitori Display service. On the other hand, the kitchen can also manage its service on a totally mobile-based way.

Managing the products on offer

The kitchen manages its product offering via its Provider user interface from which the kitchen can define a given product’s:

  • Range
  • Pictures
  • Price (different prices can be set for different user groups)
  • Allergens
  • Preparation time
  • Serving time
  • Cleaning time
  • Ordering deadline
