Henna Högström, Operations Manager at Plaza Premium Lounge, highlights the popularity of sleep pods especially among Asian travelers.
Sleep pods conquer airports worldwide
Taitori Ltd has delivered a reservation system for GoSleep sleep pods at the Plaza Premium Lounge located at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. This innovation elevates the comfort of international travel to a new level – rest time can now be booked even before the journey begins.
Topi Piispanen, CEO of GoSleep’s Podnation OÜ, shares that the sleep pods are already in use at airports such as Perth in Australia and Schiphol in the Netherlands – and travelers are actively using them. Taitori’s technology plays a key role: travelers can reserve a resting spot in advance, ensuring peace and privacy even during the busiest times.
Privacy and recovery – Also for athletes and businesses
The use of sleep pods is no longer limited to air travelers. According to Piispanen, an increasing number of sports teams, universities, and hospitals are interested in the privacy and comfort offered by the pods. “When travelers see sleep pods at airports, it creates demand for similar solutions in corporate offices, hospitals, and sports organizations,” Piispanen says with enthusiasm.
Plaza Premium Lounge Offers a Moment to Recharge
The modern and bright lounge features stunning airport views, comfortable lounge chairs, restaurant services, showers, and modern communication and charging facilities. Sometimes, there’s a need for a private moment of rest – which the sleep pods make possible.
Henna Högström, Operations Manager at Plaza Premium Lounge, highlights the popularity of sleep pods especially among Asian travelers. “Due to visa restrictions, it’s not always possible to leave the airport, so the time can be used for recovery,” Högström notes. Although changes in flight routes due to airspace closures have temporarily affected the number of Asian travelers, other passengers have also discovered the sleep pods with great appreciation.
