Using data to analyze space utilization

In the era of hybrid work, it would be beneficial for your company to identify the changed space utilization of your premises. Do you want to know what the actual occupancy rate of your premises is and how different spaces are used? Are you wondering if you are in the right-sized premises, or if you have too much or too little space? Do you need help in the dimensioning and design of your new premises? Taitori Sense space utilization analysis provides answers to these questions.

How Taitori Sense Works

We install IoT sensors in spaces, workplaces, and e.g. phone booths to measure your space utilization for a period of 2-6 months. Also available is a visitor counter for counting visitor numbers.

In addition to the data collected by IoT sensors, users of the space can be sent a survey through Taitori to find out about their experiences with the current state of the spaces and their wishes for the future of the spaces.

3.

Receive space utilization reports and survey results in your email or Taitori’s main user portal. Space reports can be ordered as, for example, bar charts, floor plan heatmaps, booking video animations, or Excel files.

Visitor counter counts the number of people automatically respecting privacy and data protection

The uses of a visitor counter are diverse, ranging from office buildings to public spaces. Taitori provides a report on the data collected by the visitor counter, which can be utilized, for example, in improving space efficiency, optimizing energy consumption, or in property maintenance. In a single space, the visitor counter can determine whether the space’s offered capacity is being used correctly, or if users are booking spaces that are too small or too large for the number of people attending an event. Visitor counters are available for measuring visitor flow in entrances and spaces of various sizes.

VMP used the Taitori Sense space utilization analysis service to help design their new spaces, which involved analyzing data collected by approximately 40 IoT sensors over a 2-month period to understand how the current spaces of VMP Personell, a part of VMP Oyj, are actually being used. Information on how different types of spaces were currently being used was utilized in the design of new spaces to ensure that the new premises would best meet the needs of the users.

Futra Office Furniture delivers furniture to offices and public spaces in Finland. Taitori supplied Futra with workplace sensors that automatically books and release Futra’s workplaces based on whether the IoT sensor detects a person at the workplace or not. The sensors were integrated into electric desks, which Futra also provides to its own customers.
